Designed as an events space for plays, music, dance, buskers, circus etc. The piece takes the form of a theatre set complete with a proscenium arch; stage entrance/door frame from the public footpath; bench/table. At the rear a group of organic tree-like forms create a forest backdrop behind which an actor can 'hide' whilst remaining visible to the audience. As a piece of public sculpture the work borrows it's title from and references Shakespeare's 'All the World's a stage' speech, allowing the audience to play a role on stage and by inference in society at large. |
